Cornwall has long been a place of inspiration for artists, ranging from Laura Knight to Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth. I’m in no way in the same league as those artists but the unique landscape of the county and it’s incredible light worked their magic on me when I recently spent a week drawing and sketching the landscape and it’s Neolithic monuments. The drawings will no doubt form the basis of future prints but the time in the south west also allowed me to explore my drawing skills and develop new ways of mark-making and techniques to record what I see and feel in the field.
